Our story
Behind the picturesque city of Livingstone, Zambia is the grim reality of low-income communities living well below the poverty line. The inability to provide basic living needs leads to a host of interlocking social issues—unemployment, lack of education, prostitution of women and sexual abuse of children, poor health and hygiene, and the epidemic of diseases, with AIDS being the most prevalent.
Prior to Grace for Families, Antony Ranjan, founder and visionary of Grace for Families established the Lubasi Trust—a residential home for orphans and vulnerable children with funding support for medical, food, and school resources, the Lushomo Trust for women and girls who have been sexually abused, Grace Centre which aims to empower young girls and families who are at risk by giving them the tools and basic education to look at various revenue streams that would take them away from prostitution, and the Kwenuha Women’s Association (KWA) to address issues that affect women involved in sex work by educating and informing about HIV and AIDS in an attempt to eradicate the life-threatening disease.
Grace for Families is Antony’s 5th establishment and aims to empower young girls and families who are at risk by giving them the tools and basic education to look at various revenue streams that would take them away from prostitution. Grace for Family runs courses in tailoring, catering, and computer training.
